PFAS in Backpacks. In a partnership with the Environmental Health Network, Mamavation recently tested 19 different backpacks from a number of popular brands. 13 were found to have detectable levels of PFAS in them. We are still not sure what the impact of PFAS contamination via skin contact will have but as PFAS chemicals build up in the body and children are known to absorb toxins more readily than any other demographic, it’s important to note every avenue through which PFAS may be reaching your family!
