PFAS Update: Biosolids and PFAS

Today we are featuring a study focused on the correlation and causation of historic biosolid use and increased levels of PFAS contamination. This study found that PFAS homologues were found in every sample of soil taken up to 30cm. Additionally, specific categories of PFAS contaminants were found in varying levels of concentration as deeply as 9m below the surface. Additionally, the contamination seemed to have spread to the ground water 17m below the treated land. Read the study, published in the scientific journal of Water Research and its conclusions here.
