Bob’s Red Mill
After testing some products from Bob’s Red Mill, we found three products we alleged to be in violation of Proposition 65 in regards to lead amounts. Below is the timeline of events of the case between ERC and Bob’s Red Mill.
NOTICE
On April 11, 2019, Environmental Research Center filed a Notice of Violation of California Law Proposition 65, against Bob’s Red Mill.
In this action, ERC alleges that three specific products manufactured, distributed, or sold by Bob’s Red Mill, contain lead and/or cadmium, chemicals listed under Proposition 65 as a carcinogen and reproductive toxin, and expose consumers to lead at a level requiring a Proposition 65 warning. All products below allegedly contain lead.
These products are:
1. Bob's Red Mill Premium Quality Protein & Fiber Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics Unflavored
2. Bob's Red Mill Naturally Flavored Chai Protein Powder Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics Sweetened with Monk Fruit
3. Bob's Red Mill Naturally Flavored Vanilla Protein Powder Nutritional Booster with Chia & Probiotics Sweetened with Monk Fruit
SETTLEMENT
A settlement was reached on November 12, 2020. In full satisfaction of all potential civil penalties, additional settlement payments, attorney's fees, and costs, Bob’s Red Mill shall make a total payment of $40,000.00 to ERC.
