After testing Guayaki products, we discovered 4 items that allegedly violate Proposition 65 due to heavy metal contamination. Below is the timeline of the case between ERC and Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products, Inc..


NOTICE I

On November 14, 2024, the Environmental Research Center filed a Notice of Violation of California Law Proposition 65, against Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products, Inc.

In this action, ERC alleges that these 4 specific products, manufactured, distributed, or sold by Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products, Inc. contain lead and/or mercury, chemicals listed under Proposition 65 as carcinogens and reproductive toxins. They expose consumers to levels requiring a Proposition 65 warning.

The products under investigation are:

  1. Guayakí Organic Yerba Mate Berry Lemonade - Lead

  2. Guayakí Organic Yerba Mate Blue Phoria - Lead

  3. Guayakí Organic Yerba Mate Orange Exuberance – Lead, Mercury

  4. Guayakí Organic Yerba Mate Peach Revival – Lead, Mercury
